We can't wait to celebrate our wedding with the people we love, among the redwoods of Hunsaker Canyon. Here you'll find everything you need: the schedule, how to get there, where to stay, and a place to share photos and stay in touch.
A love story, told by the two people least qualified to be objective about it. We added our names so you know exactly who to blame.
The short version
A nervous video call, a piano used as a backdrop, and two people who leaned in until they were all the way in. Here it is, in our own words.
A few favorite moments
Trails, trips, family dinners, and the everyday adventures that brought us here. There are plenty more on the Photos page, and we'd love for you to add yours.
For friends and family traveling in early, we're hoping to gather Thursday evening for a casual welcome. Details are still coming together. If you're invited, you'll see them here once you're signed in.
Cool autumn evening expected. Patio heaters will be running, but a wrap or jacket is a smart idea. See the Weather page.
Oakland (OAK) is closest and easiest, about 25 minutes from the venue. SFO and San Jose are good alternatives. Sample nonstop fares we've seen: Seattle around $247, Chicago to Oakland around $371.
Most guests arrive Thursday, October 8 and leave Sunday the 11th. Flying from Seattle? Friday is a Huskies game night, so consider coming Thursday to dodge the crowds.
A rental car is the simplest option. The venue is up a canyon road, so allow a few extra minutes.
A few nearby hotels we like, all an easy drive to the venue. We're setting up a room block at one of these. Once it's confirmed, the hotel, rate, and booking code will appear right here.
2730 North Main St, Walnut Creek · easy freeway access
Walnut Creek area · comfortable and convenient
Just off Mt. Diablo Blvd · cozy, close to downtown Walnut Creek
Near Walnut Creek BART and shops
A room block is in the works (we're also checking on Embassy Suites). Hold tight and we'll post the confirmed details and code here.
Lafayette in early October is warm and dry by day, cool after sunset. Below is the real 5-year average for our dates (2021 to 2025).
Our celebration runs about 5:00 to 9:30 PM. Expect it to start around 63 to 66°F and cool to roughly 55 to 58°F by the last dance. Every year in the data landed in that same range, so it's a safe bet.
Bring a wrap or light jacket for the back half of the evening. Patio heaters will be running too.
Based on Open-Meteo historical reanalysis for Lafayette, Oct 8 to 12, 2021 to 2025. We'll show a live forecast as the date gets close.
A few of our favorites to start. During the wedding, you'll be able to add your own photos and videos straight from your phone, no app or account needed, and watch the gallery fill up. We want to see our wedding through your eyes, so please capture and share plenty. Your contribution helps us put together something we'll treasure.
We'll post updates here, and you can ask questions and coordinate with other guests. Important messages will also go out by text so nobody misses them.
This is a preview. Messages stay on your device for now.
Your presence is truly the only gift we need, because at this stage we have everything, including many toasters, blenders and enough kitchenware to open a small café.
If you'd still like to give a little something, our honeymoon fund would be thrilled. We can't wait to celebrate with you!
